The details
40 gift box and packaging templates in three sizes each: 120 ready-to-cut shapes for cutting machines, plus print-at-home PDFs for cutting by hand.
What makes these different
- Score lines are on their own layer. They do not arrive mixed in with the cut lines.
- No scoring tool? Every template also comes with the folds as dashed cuts.
- A step-by-step guide with a picture for every step of every style: the panel to glue, where it goes, and what to fold.
- The best card thickness for every template, from folding each one in seven card thicknesses in a 3D simulation.
- Every preview shows the folded box with its width, depth and height marked, in mm and inches.
- Five downloads in total, not dozens: one guide and four ZIP files.
THE 8 STYLES (5 shapes of each, sizes S, M and L)
- Straight tuck-end box
- Pillow box
- Gable box with handle
- Matchbox drawer (sleeve and tray)
- Two-piece lid and base box
- Pyramid favour box
- Milk-carton favour box
- Belly band / product sleeve
What you get
- 01-Start-Here-Index.pdf: which file to use, tools, machine setup, calibration, the best card and the best paper for every template, and step-by-step pages for each style
- Boxes-A.zip, Boxes-B.zip, Boxes-C.zip: the templates
- A silent how-to video for each of the 8 styles (MP4, 1920 x 1080), in that style's folder: the flat template with the step marked, beside the same step folding in 3D
- Calibration.zip: a 1 inch and 25 mm test square
- For each template: SVG with a separate score layer, SVG with dashed-cut folds, DXF (CUT and SCORE layers, millimetres), print PDFs for A5, A4, A3, US Letter and US Tabloid, each piece whole on one sheet (full size on the best paper, which the guide and every page name; a smaller paper prints a smaller box), and a PNG preview
Checked before it ships
- All 120 templates were folded step by step in a 3D simulation, in seven card thicknesses from 0.20 to 0.50 mm. The guide gives the best card for each one.
- The simulation checks that the finished size matches the size in the file name, that closing boxes close and tuck flaps go inside, that glue flaps land where the guide says, and that drawers slide and lids fit.
- Two separate 3D models were run and agree on every fold.
- Over 110,000 automatic checks run on every build, and every file is checked again after it is packed.
Sizes
- The full sizes chart is in the listing photos and in the guide. They run from a 45 x 12 x 35 mm belly band (1.8 x 0.5 x 1.4 in) up to a 105 x 70 x 158 mm milk-carton box (4.1 x 2.8 x 6.2 in).
- All S and most M sizes fit a 12 x 12 inch mat. 20 of the 120 templates (mostly L sizes) need a 12 x 24 inch mat; their folders are labelled _12x24-mat.
- Every template has PDFs for A5, A4, A3, US Letter and US Tabloid, each piece whole on one sheet: nothing is split over pages or taped. The guide lists the best paper for the full size; S sizes fit A4 or Letter, the biggest boxes need A3 or Tabloid.
- Need bigger boxes or patterns? The Professional edition adds A5, A4 and A3 sizes and six pattern sheets.
How to use
- Download the five files and unzip the ZIPs.
- Open 01-Start-Here-Index.pdf and pick a design.
- Upload its score-layer SVG to your cutting software, set the blue layer to Score, attach it to the red cut layer, and cut. Or print the PDF for the best paper (named in the guide and on the page) at 100% and cut by hand.
- Fold and glue following the pictures in the guide.
Please note
- Card: the guide gives the best card thickness for every template, worked out by folding each one in seven thicknesses (0.20 to 0.50 mm) in a 3D simulation. Most need 0.25 or 0.30 mm (about 190 to 230 gsm, 70 to 85 lb); the biggest want up to 0.40 mm. Thicker card than the guide's range makes sliding fits (matchbox tray, lids, belly bands) too tight.
- Plain shapes only: no printed artwork, window cut-outs or inserts.
- The pyramid box closes with ribbon (not included). The milk-carton top closes with ribbon, a clip or glue.
- For personal use and for packaging the products you sell. Please do not resell or share the files themselves.
- The box pictures are 3D renders and illustrations of boxes made from these templates. Card, colours and fillings are your choice and are not included.
- Because this is a digital file, it cannot be returned. Message me if a file does not open or a box does not fit and I will help.
